Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Is that an Indesit condenser dryer in the background they have replaced it with? If so it's a very short sighted decision.

What a classy looking machine compared to the indesit in the background, no competition who wins the beauty contest!

LOL!

They've replaced it with a condenser that dosen't condense properly.

I'm not sure if it's the sensor model, but if it is, that only works on high and is thermostatic not electronic, so that dosen't work properly anyway.

Nevermind, it'll most probably pack up in a year or 2 and they hopefully they'll choose more wisely.

;)

Beautiful Philips though, I'd certainly have it in a flash!

Funny how one of these should come up!

Last week, well on new years day I finally got the courage to attend a family gathering at my Granddads house after 5 long years of finding the thought of going rather painful after the death of my Grandmother.

Well I went just to get it over and done with and hopefully start a new year with a clean slate. I also had other motives and that was to tell him that I was gay.
Spent 2 1/2 years creeping around (spent too many saturday mornings in Crewe town centre looking over my shoulder when with Paul) and feeling darn right guilty about keeping secrets not knowing how he would react.

He took the news really rather well although my auntie said it for me and he even came into my workplace the following morning to check I was the one who was ok.

Anyway I was also able to see if the Philips D163 was still around and had not been replaced and to my relief it was stood in the garage in the same place its been stood for over 20 odd years since they moved there.

Of all the appliances I knew from childhood this and my aunts Hotpoint WM20 aren the only ones still going in daily use. I certainly wont be letting this go to the tip when its gotten rid of.

Testament to the quality Id say.

One thing I would say is that the one above looks like its had a replacement door.

The door on Grandads machine has a proud and much squarer door handle.

Thinking the same as you Rob....

when I saw the door release tug.

Appears very square and inset to appear flush with the door surround.
Makes it look a bit weird, but still very much a smartun!

Al im also not sure it is Uni Directional. Im sure it should reverse although I do remember it could tangle sertain loads quite heavily.

I do remember it pausing after tumble periods but I cant see this being to go back in the same direction after.

Suppose I ought to drop the odd load of washing around to see what it does LOL.
