The "keyboard" controls were the wide white ones mounted horizontally with the colors at the back of each button in GE ranges. The wide button idea migrated to high end models with slanted control panels in both Hotpoint and GE, but without the lighted colors for the heats. These clear buttons glowed with the color for each heat. Hotpoint was so out front with flair and gadgets. Unfortunately, this also began the era of hidden bake element foolishness for Hotpoint, I believe.
