Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thanks Jamie

The previous owner was helping me load them in the truck, and the drain hose got in the way. He said "Let me help you" and snapped the elbow on the drain hose clear off the back of the machine . Had to drive almost one hour to get the part as I wanted to run them so bad today. They ran Smooth as Silk. Very Happy Camper here. (lol).

Hey Ben

Bob (appnut) says they would be Late 89's.
The adhesive was left over form a note to the renters to clean the lint filter after every use as a fire hazard may occur. I used some WD-40 to remove that crap. "She shines like the top of the Chrysler Building" Now. They're soooooo Beautiful. And run so great. The Appliance Gods were with me on Saturday

Nice find, Ed

I don't know how you do it.. I don't know how the landlord puts up with all your toys except to say they would never have to worry about doing laundry and can always use one of the dishwashers you have if they have alot of company over!

The dryer looks just like the one we had in a gas version back in NY. It was from 1971 or thereabouts and ran perfectly right up until we moved down to Florida in 2004. I only had to replace the gas coils on it.. one went bad so I changed both of them. Worked very well but did need rollers come to think of it! Which I changed too.
Is the washer the type that everyone wants? I still don't know the difference in the transmissions! But that was such a classic machine. I know my aunt would love to have her old one from the 70's too.

Keep up the good scouting and treasures will come your way!

Steve if your dryer was indeed from 1971, it would still be a center dial Maytag. Now maybe 1981. The first version of this control panel style (1979( had white/light color buttons. the dark color ones came later.

Thank You

You just can't trust the seller! And I knew them! Thanks for the info, Appnut. I got the dryer for 25 bucks and it lasted, like I said, at least until we moved in 2004 and went thru lots of cycles as I got it when our first one was born in 93 and then our second came along 13 months later!

MUCH earlier than that. The last pitman driven transmissions to come out was June of 1986. I bet these are from about 1984. 1985 and 1986 had the gold color band that went around the black console and dial.

Yep...

Just like that :)

Nice A-712. I can't quite tell if the dryer is a DE-712 since I thought the 712 dryers had an infinite slider for the buzzer signal.
