Thought you might like to see some pictures of my KitchenAid dishwasher collection. Also, my house was built in 1950. My kitchen is retro-looking, but my stove and refrigerator are newer. What I would like to do is install a stainless steel built-in wall oven from the 50's 60's era (electric). Any ideas how I could locate one? Now...here are some pics...

Todd--I am insanely jealous of your collection.

I have a KDS-17, KDS-17A, and a KDS-18. Also a KUDS22 and KUDC23 on more-or-less permanant loan to friends. I would love to find a KDS-15 and a KDS-16. My grandmother had a KDI-15, my mom's cousin had a KDS-16 and as a kid we had a KDD-67 front load portable.

Your KDS-36 must be exceedingly rare.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of the rest of your collection!

T.

Nice collection.....

As a fellow dishwasher collector I am very impressed by what you have. As for a stainless wall oven, you might want to start looking at an appliance recycle center. Next stop would be to scope out an older neighborhood where there might be a unit waiting by the curbside headed to oblivian (that's how I found mine). I have an appliance thrift store near me that I check regularly. When you find the oven then you have to find the matching cooktop. Once you do all this, then the fun part begins, cleaning and restoration. This part can be just as tedious and agravating as going out and finding the stuff but in the end you will be very proud of your achievment.

18 Series Rules (with some modifications)

The only good thing a 19 has is parts like the full width upper wash arm and larger china guard. Put that in an 18 and you have fine dishwashing without all of that craziness about stopping to heat water. I have been amazed to find that with the new enzyme detergents, my 18s clean as well with 120-130 degree hot water as they did with hotter water and the older chlorinated products. I do use the sani cycle to help them dry better. I love my 18s. Tom
