Mum had a V454 but a later model in all white. I curbside collected it and with a new door switch she got a good 18months out of it before it stopped spinning. This was 18 months ago, so I assume it was around 10-15 years old at that point.
I dont know that it was a great performer it only spun after the 5th rinse, the rest were just high level water changes.
Mum never bothered turning it off at the Thermostat, she just left it on 40 and turned it on and off at the wall.

Persil Advert 1986
In this ad you can see the control panel of the bosch model V731, the electonic model, with push button control panel, that the skinhead lad is trying to work but spills half of the box of Persil Automatic on the floor

I don't know how long they sold the V454 for, but I looked at them just on 20yrs ago as I bought the ASEA for mum for mothers day 1989.
It was a toss up between the Bosch and the ASEA. The ASEA won for a few reasons.
- no bellows
- fast cycles
- access the outer drum from a trap door in the cylinder
- temp. control lock (when engaged, you can only reduce)
- ability to 'add' water to the wash cycle at the push of a button
...to name a few

The dishwasher on the first page shows the happy housewife with her sparkling china which was just removed from the dishwasher.
How about a before and after photo set showing how well the dishwasher cleans up after a messy pasta or lasagna dinner. You know, a lasagna baking dish encrusted with dried tomato sauce and then it comes out sparkling clean after Bosch is done with it.
