Keep your Hotpoint dishwasher: it is a Bosch in disguise! The current Hotpoints are from Indesit, and thus somewhat poorer quality.
The Hoover tumble driers, apparently have a tendency to wear out their thermostat(s), caused by the components being thermally stressed. The general advice is to allow the drier to complete its cool-down phase, before even thinking of opening the door to check the laundry.
The kettle you show was the same as my mum's - until a flash, a bang, and a puff of smoke ended its life!
The Hoover Purepowers had a dreadful tendency to snap the handle release mechanism. Both mine and mum's did exactly the same thing. They probably still do it now!
