Anyone have any older (large or small) appliance-related photos they want to share? That would be fun if we could see each other's appliance lives and what we had around us ages ago! I'll start with my vacuum photos...I'm still getting used to the new scanner, so bear with me! :)

Starting is my first toy vacuum, age 3, Christmas 1991. Note the ultra-cool 1970's Zenith console in the background...

Christmas 1992 in Tennessee...watching my uncle change the bag on his Hoover Convertible. Hmmm, I wonder what happens if I flip this switch? (Surprisingly, I didn't turn it on)

This brings back memories. I remember beeing that age, and I had a toy vacuum just like that. I just don't think my mom ever got too many pictures of me vacuuming.

i saw that same sharp at a thriftstore not long ago. they wanted too much money and the motor sounded slightly dry. notice how Austin guides the cord in use, its in his blood!

Vacation in Destin, Summer 1994. There was a Singer stick vac at the beach house. I also remember the W/D set (unfortunately there were no pictures of it). Stackable WCI-made 27" Kenmore from the early 90's.

Vacuuming the sofa in the downstairs living room. You can see the hose, but what you don't see is the other end, an Electrolux model 30. That vacuum (and a few others) were sent to Goodwill while I was at school one day...:(

OK, the last one! My first new vacuum purchase, a Eureka SuperBroom BrushUp. Love those stick vacs! (Unfortunately, I don't have these any more. The Eureka had some sort of handle problem and something, can't remember what, happened to the Singer 8 years ago which resulted in me taking it apart)

Well, now that you have seen a lot of mine, come on and start posting yours!!! :)

Very cute photos!!

You had those "to die for" eyes even as a little kid Austin. Your mom must have kept the camera handy when you were growing up. Good for her!

I looked, however did not find any photos of any of us using appliances. Did find one taken Xmas Eve 1988. It was during my parents kitchen remodel. Why we still had Xmas at my parents house that year is beyond me??? They whole house was a wreck because of the construction, and you can see the 1975 Sharp Microwave oven at it's temporary home on a cabinet in the dining room. My sister got the M/W after my parents died in the 1990's. She used it many years until one day while I was at her house I noticed that most of the door seal was missing. The M/V went to the curb with the cord cut off about 15 minutes later. LOL!!

1980.. at my Aunt & Uncle's house

They lived in Michigan, and had 6 kids. It was always a blast to visit there!
With 6 kids my Aunt went thru vacuums! I remember a middle 60's Kenmore canister, a Hoover Convertible model 719, a Sunbeam Challenger canister, and this vacuum, which replaced the Sunbeam.
My Aunt didn't care much for cleaning, she was and is a lady who loved to sit at the kitchen table, smoke, talk, play cards and enjoy herself.
She never discouraged me from vacuuming at her house!
