Here are some pictures of the machines I recently got off of CL. I originally saw them in photos at an estate sale posted on craigslist a few months ago, however I already missed the sale (I emailed and asked if they were still around by any chance, and was told they were long gone.) The lady who sold them to me got them from the estate sale. She's now moving and that's why she needed them gone. Never would have guessed I'd get a second chance at these machines.

Good Lord...

They're Just Beautiful.

I believed you said in the other thread you were going to store them...

The Experts will be here shortly and they WILL know exactly what to do to preserve these.

Congratulations and hope you get to use them soon.

Storage Of Major Appliances

The single most destructive thing to avoid is moisture, it is best to keep just about anything in low humidity as possible, anything close to 50% is fine. Also avoid sunlight and excessive heat, freezing will not hurt at all as long as the washers pump and inlet valves are drained [ on this washer all you have to do is remove the drain and inlet hoses] if fact if you could keep the machine frozen all the time it would last longer.

If the machines are to be stored in a dusty area or an area where the humidity varies from time to time it would be best to completely wrap them in stretch plastic, good luck with these cool machines, I hope you get to use or play with them soon.

Wow!  Congratulations on an outstanding score!   They are in wonderful condition and I hope you get to use them soon.  I am thrilled to have recently acquired a turquoise version of the 1959 washer myself.

In case you ever need them,  the service and user manuals for both the washer and dryer are available here on this site in the 'Manuals and Literature' section.

The link below is the service manual, but you'll be able to find them all in that section.

Good luck with them!

Thank you for the storage tips, John.It sounds like the place I have them stored at meets all the requirements for safe keeping.

Turquoisedude - very cool that you have the turquoise version, that's my favorite color. My heart skipped a beat when I saw this pink set, if they were turquoise I definitely would have had a heart attack!
