Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I wonder if top-lessness is allowed in Hooterville.........

LOL
It's "roast-ready" and 16.980 +/- KW!!!

On Long Island GadgetBoy and I visited a shopping mall, IKEA and Sears in nearby Hicksville.

GB thought I was kidding; I was dead-pan serious about the name of the location!

Knuckle anyone?

That there is a bona fide, DEE-lux, chicken-fryin', belly-renderin', double wide farm stove. What a beauty!. You can even see the genes that got knitted together to create the "Wonder Dial" on the washers. Now we know what happened to Arnold after "Green Acres" got cancelled.

Real Location:

Looks like "Hooterville" was a joke; there's a question posted now about the location, and the seller says it's Hutchinson, KS. That's where "Picnic", with Kim Novak and William Holden, was filmed in 1955. I wonder if some local person, totally swept off their feet by the sight of Kim and all that glamour, hustled down to the local appliance store to buy the most futuristic, Hollywood, glamorous stove they could find? This looks to be from about that time frame.

Arnold

He probably got sold with that vintage TV he used watch as a package with the stove. I'm sure you'd have to put the lower rack on the bottom to .................... That's Horrible. He was such a smart pig. Smarter then the ones I know these days...OOPS.......

So what did happen to Arnold ???

Do you think he succumbed to Szeckley Gulaasch ? (I'm Hungarian and that is a delicious Pork Stew with Sauerkraut and tomatoes. Served with Spaetzle) Or do you think he went back and forth to the Beverly Hillbillies as one of ElleMay's pets ????

Or maybe they bought it with the money they made by being an extra. "Picnic" used a whole bunch of locals for the various scenes.

"Picnic" was a great movie. Rosalind Russell was superb in it.

Could have used a few dachshunds, though. ;-)

Auntie Mame

There was never one actress that pulled off Auntie Mame like Like Rosiland Russell. Lucielle Ball failed horribly as her in that role. Just remeber "Life is a banquet and the trouble .....!!!!! Roz was the best.

I think Lucy was already too old to play the part. We saw that pic and thought we needed glasses due to all the "soft focus" shots of Lucy.

Asfor this stove, why do I get the feeling that it may have been a mouse house at one time or another?
