I remember many years ago my aunt & uncle had this same dishwasher in their kitchen, but in white. Turn the handle one direction to open and the other way to start, always stuck in my mind. That and the black "fan blade" in the bottom of the tank. I have no idea how well it washed, but I do remember them using it. Again that was many... many years ago.

An easy mistake even for U.S. residents

At first I was thinking that this machine preceded AlasKa's statehood, but then saw that it's in ARkansas.

That's very different.

Never mind.

I saved this one!

I have it at the house. They delivered it to me today. Turns out the sellers daughter is going to school here and they were bringing her today so they brought the dishwasher with them. I really wanted to drive down and see the house this came out of but that's four hours driving they saved us and I'm OK with that.

Seems the owner of this home was a woman who was married to a farmer in one of the outlying communities. She was a city girl so she built this home in the next closest city. I'm told everything was Pink and Purple. The house still have a pink range hood, cooktop and double ovens. There was a set of pink westy twins but those are gone.

In about 1975 the house was closed up as she moved away to live with family so it's been sitting ever since. The seller is a neighbor and said it's like a time capsule going inside.

The machine seems complete. I have it tied closed right now until I can make a cart for it so that it won't tip when I'm working on it. I can't figure out the latch that should keep it closed. I suspect it might be electric and once I power on the machine it might engage and keep the drawer in. Does anyone know?

The machine would run through a cycle but the water in the house if off so not sure how the seals will be but for it's age it seems to be in pretty good shape. Just needs a good cleaning.

Pictures to follow once I get into it.

Does anyone have the service manual for this model?

I have downloaded the one here but it's for the previous model and I'm curious to see if there are any big differences. From what I can tell they look pretty similar though.

I hope to get into this in the next week or so. I am part of a big project thats kicking my butt so once that quiets down I will have more time and energy to see what's going on with this machine. I'm pretty excited about it. It's my first impeller machine.
