There are many more countries represented here. I'm from the Netherlands, visited conventions in 2001, 2002 and 2005. I've also seen people from Norway, Spain, Slovenia, Iran, Lebanon, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Australia just to name a few.
Cool!I knew I missed a few countries but didn't think I'd missed that many. Anyone from Poland?
I'd love to attend a wash-in in another country. I've been wrapping up many loose ends in my life lately and with that wanderlust is setting in....
Alert! Topic drift
Quite a variety of languages represented. I'm impressed. I taught ESL/EFL for years and have studied or lived immersed in a number of other languages and would rather have any of those than have to learn English as a new language.
Yes, I know: "English is easy. It's just French smooshed on top of German." While that's true, that only helps if your first language is a Germanic one.

It's unfortunate travel is so expensive and time-consuming. It'd be fun to attend wash-ins in other countries. 40 years ago we were all told that by now we'd have left supersonic jets behind and would be flying in hypersonic planes that would take us from New York to London in an hour. I'm still waiting, lol.
Steve- I wish I would have known you wanted to go we could have shared a ride! I live in Mansfield and we could have gone together but it is too late for me to make arrangements now. Maybe next time. E-mail me if you get a chance. Jeb
I've just sent off my co-op application docs to my attorney for review. Harder than it sounds as despite my best efforts, some of it got carted off to 2 different storage units...ggrrrrrrrrrr. I need to pick up a few things from my CPA and my job this week, but other than that I think I'm done! It's time to relax....at least until everyone has gone through it all and lined up a million questions for me, lol.
NeptuneBob, but I really shouldn't spend the money...
I promise though I'll be at the next one! They sound like FAR too much fun to not go!! If circumstances were different right now - I'd be there in a heartbeat!!
It will be a very hectic weekend for me.
I'm leaving Friday after work and won't get there until after the Friday evening festivities have concluded. I'll participate on Saturday and some Sunday, but I have to help some cousins in Pittsburgh to pick out new appliances for their home at some point.

PS: I'm bringing a Kenmore with a bad transmission if anyone wants to teach me how to rebuild it. I'm also bringing a spare transmission for it anyway. I'm also bringing the transmission out of a Maytag A702 in pieces because I can't get the !$$^#%@#$ O-ring to seat properly. I'd love to put ti back together. And laundry. I'll bring laundry of course.
I won't make it today because I'll still be on the road. I cannot leave until after work. I'll plan on being there at noon tomorrow since that is what the schedule says.
I've got a 1981 Kenmore in the back of the car already with a waterlogged transmission I'd love to open up. I'll also bring a new-to-me transmission, sans water. I'll also be bringing the parts to a Maytag A702 transmission because I need a bit of expertise in installing the new O-ring. I'll have the base of that one with me as well because I cannot figure out how to disconnect the damper springs on the old-style base so I can replace the damper pads. I figure as long as I've got it apart this far, I might as well replace the pads
Even if none of my little projects get touched, I'm looking forward to meeting people and, of course, a little laundry.
