To all the Craigslist surfers and anyone who might see one of these at an estate sale or elsewhere:

The pictures below are of two different 1972 Kenmore models, both from the same design family. From what I can tell, there were about 6 models that used this panel style - I'd be happy with any of them. Its tough to explain why, but I love this control panel style. I have recently found three 1972 Kenmores, so I figure there are others out there that will turn up eventually. The gold set pictured was in Seattle's Craigslist back in the spring I think, but they were gone by the time I saw them. There has been a Coppertone dryer or two in discussions here, one was on ebay.

The raggedy control panel in the second picture is one that I've had for many years; the machine sat outside at a used appliance shop for at least several years and I used it as my "teaching tool" when learning what made a Kenmore belt drive work.

I simply would like a nice one of these for my long-term collection.

If anyone sees any of these or knows where I might acquire one, please let me know. Thanks everyone - have a great week!

One of my aunts had this washer

One of my aunts had this same washer-in white though, it had that gold Roto-Swirl agitator-but when it first started to agitate, it would make that loud noise, then once the bearings warmed up, the noise would go away.

The fullsize pic. My biggest concern is all the 'warts' from contact with sun and rain. This panel is solid metal and weighs about as much as an entire washer top (panel, top, and lid) of something new of today).
