Please help me identify this range

Just purchased this pink range. Owner stated it was brought home off the line from the GE plant in Louisville KY where her father worked, she believes in the early 60s. It was replaced in the early 70s and kept in the basement, used occasionally. I can't seem to locate the model or serial number. It is self-cleaning; sensi-temp is currently non functional but I would like to fix it once I know more about the range model/age. It came with the sensi-temp grill accessory. Any help would be most appreciated!

1964 GE 40" Range

Hi Aimee, and congratulations of getting this cool range.

 

I considered buying this range as well and had a nice talk with the seller this morning but was too late. I have the exact range already in the Copper-Tone brown color. This was the first 40" range that GE built with a SC oven, it is a very good performing range.

The model # tag is between the two drawers, it is a stamped aluminum tag.

Congratulations

You got what I consider the best looking best made GE range ever.John can help you with the Sensi Temp, truthfully, they didn't hold up well, a great feature, but after a few years they die, I have never seen a original one that still works.

As we were moving it out, the seller was fielding several calls about this range--I feel very lucky to have snagged it. We needed a new oven and this one seemed too good to be true.

It appears to be in really wonderful condition. I tried the sensi-temp just in case, but I knew I would more than likely be replacing that. For now, everything else works just beautifully. I located the tag (thank you, John!) as Model J486Y1PK/Serial AYZ22395.
