Hi everyone, this post is both an announcement and bug report. I'm about to make a major change to the automaticwasher. It's taken many hours of coding and testing to be able to do this, but I "think" I got it working properly.

There most likely will be some issues, so please report it here to me if you are having trouble. If you have any issues or warning messages on your browser, please try a complete reload first. Shift+Refresh/Reload should do the trick.

The site may go down for a bit while I make the changes.

What I'm doing is moving the site to a more secure platform. Many major website have recently made the move to the more secure https protocol from http, although there are still plenty BIG websites (much bigger than aw or Vacuumland) that have not (ie http://www.foxnews.com, http://www.latimes.com/, http://www.startribune.com, http://www.sun-sentinel.com, etc.

Once I get the bugs ironed out of AW, I'll make the move on Vacuumland as well. I already made the move on Automatic Ephemera, but that site was much easier to do than AW as it's much smaller. Thanks for everyone's help and patience in this transition.

I'm not sure if this is a problem caused by the change or not, but thought I would bring it up. On posts that have pictures, I'm not seeing the actual picture. I'm seeing the little Washer guy holding the box of AW on it with the word Automaticwasher.org, from the main page. I guess you could say our logo is only showing up. If a post has several pictures, I'll click them and they are all the same.

Don`t know if it has something to do with your ongoing https programming, but sometimes when I hit the yellow rinse button all I get to see is the last response. If it seems too much out of context I go to "click here to load the entire thread" just to find out there is a whole bunch of new responses that I have never seen before. Problem seems to occur only sporadically, maybe it`s just time to clear my cache, cookies and so on, or have others experienced the same lately ?

Okay I'm trying it again now. I think I have the image issue resolved. The secure https website code is now deployed again.

Please continue to let me know if you see any issues.

That shouldn't have much to do with the changeover to https. I'll watch that closely.

Robert, I signed in the lock and https was on. Everything on the site is working perfect on this end. I know what you mean about bigger websites just cant be bothered to secure their site and I thank you for taking the time and effort for us. It is greatly appreciated. There is absolutely no way I could maintain a site like this.

Rinse Button

Robert,

I've experienced the same thing with the "Rinse" button several times in the past week.  Doesn't always happen, but more often than not.  I've resorted to reading the thread from bottom-to-top several times just to be sure I haven't missed out on anything.

Website!

This is the message I get:

Go on to the webpage (Not recommended)

I normally use Safari on my ipad and I cleared the website history as per Robert’s suggestion and everything is back to normal, and the web address now shows with https:.

Before I cleared the website history the site was acting strange, different font and if swiped the page to ge back I got a window that asked if I was sure I wanted to submit the request as it wasn’t secure.

Thanks Robert for working on this to make the site secure for everyone. On my end at least, all seems OK.
Eddie

Please excuse this question from the depths of the pit of ignorance, but I can't find "reload." I know about "refresh" and I can see "Redo" and "Reply". Do I have to dust my keyboard again to find something hiding under the dust?

Thank you very much.

At work, I have gotten the "not secure" msg when signing in, too.
