It appears I'm a little late for the announcement, but better late than never :>)

I met RCD last week at Sergeant’s Maytag while shopping for a new dishwasher and oven for my grandmother. I have been popping my head in the store about once a month for a year now, shooting the breeze with a now, recently retired employee that worked there for 34 years.

During the paperwork process of the purchasing items, RCD mentions his 1927 Magic Chef range. Right then we clicked as we shared our passion for vintage appliances. He graciously takes me to the back showing me around the place, pointing out vintage manuals, wringer heads, and other goodies that they've stocked for many years. Next thing I know we are at his work truck and he begins loading me up with NOS vintage parts........for free!!!

15 minutes after our departure of the store, he calls me and mentions that a bunch of vintage parts were thrown away by the owner and stashed in 2 different washers that were heading for the crusher. He kindly invited me to stop by the next day and grab anything I desired. The next day while loading up the parts, he brings me a couple quarts of transmission fluid, turbine oil, and 4 bottles of vintage wringer washer tranny fluid.....free!!

We are truly blessed to have such a gracious, kind hearted, and very knowledgeable gentleman to join our club. So please give a warm welcome to RedCarpetDrew (RCD)!!!

Hey Drew, I think I already welcomed you on your Magic Chef thread but I might as well make it official here! Always great to see more Bay Area people joining in the A.W. fun.

Dan, I'm confused. Do you drive to Reno to do your appliance shopping? Drew is indicating that he's located there. Oh well, close enough to the Bay Area, I guess.

Thank You!

As I said earlier, kindred spirits... As soon as I figure out how to update my profile here (any ideas?), it'll be all good.

As I said elsewhere, I have access to lots of factory parts and service manuals for Maytags from wringer to modern. If I can help, drop me a line! The advantages of working at one of the rapidly shrinking number of Red Carpet Service Centers...

Thank You!

Mission Sucessfull except for the question about favorite major appliance. Where is the choice for Gas Range? Considering my pride and joy, I'd have chosen that...

Andrew, the stove is beautiful. Two ovens and compact as well. A neighbor of ours had a Chambers they brought from the east, that was her moms that looked a lot like this one. I remember that it was insulated so well you never knew the oven was on. She would forget to turn it off sometimes. They moved it down to San Jose with them and boy was it heavy. This one looks to be in exceptional condition.
