This D & M made dishwasher was quite a good cleaner and dryer of dishes from the mid 60's thru the early to mid 70's. They held an average load of dishes and had to be loaded with at least some care to make sure the upper rack could rotate as it washed. They were pretty good machines for the era and held up fairly well.

We had a '74 Lady Kenmore. Loved the stylish, lighted console and Roto Rack, but it was hardly the most efficient use of space for an upper rack. If one loaded the dishes at a particular angle, the rack would spin very quickly. It cleaned average loads well, but was no match for really crusty cookware, even with softened water.

My stepfather faithfully patched the pox of rust spots that developed all over the interior and tines, replaced both racks from donor machines, and managed to eke out about nine-and-a-half years of service from it.

I stopped by the local KItchenAid / Whirlpool dealer on the way home from my mother's funeral and purchased a TOL KitchenAid and a large capacity Whirlpool laundry pair.

And with that, our house had three items without a Sears-brand label on it. LOL.

A friend I grew up withs parents had this portable dishwasher or one very similar in the model line. I remember it saying Lady Kenmore on the console and I had a few chances to see it operate.

Her mom had a 63 Lady Kenmore washer and a Kenmore dryer which I don't think was a match to the washer. I believe it was later 60s. They had a GM Frigidaire top mount fridge and a kenmore flair type range with the chrome oven and glass doors. My favorite though was that Lady Kenmore washer she had in the breezeway.

Heard and seen that machine run quite a few times. Never forget the sound of a Kenmore and the lighted panel that was flickering by the time they got rid of it in the early eighties.

They always had Sears catalogs also I used to read.
