It probably doesn't get more BOL (while still being fully automatic in operation) than this. Not a bad-looking control panel.

Question: The specs claim wash and rinse temp temperatures are "user selective according to fabric." Is that a diplomatic way of saying "user sets water temp at faucets"?

I don't see 'hot' or 'warm' markings on the timer that one sees on some other BOL washers. (The maximum wash time often provides a hot fill; selecting a few minutes less wash time gets a warm fill, for instance.)

While I tend to be a TOL bells-and-whistles guy, I have to admit there is something attractive about a basic, straight-forward machine.

My mothers first automatic was a lower end Kenmore, similar vintage to this model. The washer had one water inlet so you had to put a Y hose at the faucets and adjust the temp there. But if you wanted to do a small load, when the level was what you wanted, you could advance the timer to about 4 minutes and agitation started.
