Me wonders where this ad came from and what model machine that is? I have never seen a model that looks like that myself, but that certainly doesn't mean anything! It looks similar to the very first roller matic model machines as far as the console and timer, but I didn't know they had the rapidry 1000 at the very beginning of those. Good advertising with the "Jet Action" angle. Ever interesting....

I've wondered if Rapidry was on all of the models listed or just the TOL Two-Speed?

Australia. Back then, Australian content laws required a minimum domestic content of at least 80%, unless the goods were imported CKD (complete knockdown).
The console is definately their own design. The workings may or may not have been imported from GM Frigidaire of Canada.
The 1963 Holden EJ had a 92% domestic content. Full size Chevrolets and Pontiacs were exported to Australia as CKD units, and Pontiacs were all shipped with a Chevrolet dash and instrument cluster for right hand drive.

Interesting stuff. I do know that here in the states, the Rapidry 1000 was only on certain machines that had two speeds. But they did offer it on middle of the line machines.

Rapidry

Appeared on many different models of solid tub rollermatics. At times seemingly at random.
However, the reason here in the US was because a large Frigidaire Dealer might order a large quantity of machines specially equipped for their distribution.

I have a '67 Gold-Crown Rollermatic with Rapidry. Yet, I have seen other Gold-Crown units of the same vintage that did not have it. I think there are some Custom Deluxe models with it.

Australian Advert

Yes, this is an Australian advert I sent Robert ages ago. General Motors 'Holden' only ever built Frigidaire Multimatics in this country: the 'Rapidry' was referred to as 'Rapidry Seventen' (710 rpm). I have a 1960 Multimatic and Nathan has 2 later versions.
