I wonder what they mean under "Velvabalance" when they say it "Redistributes clothes without shutting off washer." Slowing the spin does not seem like it would do it.
I guess Whirlpool did some looking back to find that direct linking of motor, transmission and pump. That was a pretty neat giant plastic clothes catcher at the bottom of the outer tub. I wonder if a really unbalanced load would cause the tub to swing enough to bring the clothes guard at the top of the tub into view. I guess the recirculating lint filter did not work except with a full tub of water.
Easy made the washers and dryers for AMC, the store brand of many Federated Department stores. AMC appliances sold for less money than GE and Norge at Rich's Department Store and the salesmen got a bigger commission, but the Easy washers and dyers had sharp edges inside and out and other signs of cheaper finishing. The stoves were made by Sunray. The salesmen in our store told me that they wold not sell the AMC appliances as their first choice because troublesome appliances were the problem of the seller to solve.
