Hey,

I want the "Magic Minute"; so useful for SO many things! Wonder why it was limited to just one model and just washers! LOL!

Actually, do this manually with soiled whites: Put in the bleach and detergent, let it fill to small load, put in the socks, etc. let 'em agitate a few min. Then turn the dial to large load, let it fill as I'm putting in the rest of the whites..works well.

Happy Holidays,
Duane

Duane,

I don't blame you for wanting the "Magic Minute!" Any minute now (pun intended), I should have the 1959 Kelvinator resto completed, as I now have all the parts to get it put back together. I've included a glam shot of the current status - check out that sand blasted frame! I know guys, it has been a year now, I found this machine on New Years Eve last year.

Kelvinator

Hi Ben,
This is one beautiful Kelvinator. Isn't this the same as the POD except yours has a window. Those Kelvinators were so awsome the way they cleaned. I only wish they would have made a 1/18.
Best Wishes
Peter

Truyly Magic minute!

The old Kelvinators were one of the most unusual machines around. Magic Minute was just part of it...the 'centric action', along with Philco TLs and Frigidairs made for a nice departure from the typical 'swish-spash' of all the others.

BTW: I never knew how my aunt's '59 Kelvinator (such a wierd agitator) actually worked until this group answered the question. The were truyly intersting devices.

Love the sexy control panel glamour shot! Looks like this will be a mint restored machine when she is finished.
