Is this ad from the late 60's? Early 70's?
When I first looked at the photo (before I got to the text) I thought these might be JC Penney branded machines, I was surprised to see they're Norge. I don't remember seeing this ad before, nor have I ever seen Norge portables like this, pretty neat. The ad claims it will handle "a 10 lb load", but I seriously doubt it.
In a thread from 2014 when this 21" non-portable, TOL 21" Norge washer (below) was found in Arizona, John Lefever commented a 6 lb load was a much more realistic capacity. I got to briefly play with this neat little washer, while in AZ. I assume both washers (portable & non-portable) are the same mechanically.
The washer below went to John's appliance museum in Beltsville, MD.
