Is this a 57 or 58? I can't remember which year Hotpoint introduced the coaxial tranny where there is a pause between agitate and spin as opposed to jumping right into spin a la Speed Queen and Maytag AMP like Robert's 56 Hotpoint does.
 
Looks like the '57 model.  Those transmissions were odballs for sure. I am trying to work up the courage to tear into mine in 2017.  

We'll see how that plys out...

It may be a reach but I imagine the figures in the lower left corner of the ad could conceivably be construed to indicate July of 1957.
 
The NARDA Appliance Trade In book lists the model as 1958. That light bar could be added to other Hotpoint washers, just as GE offered a similar one for a bit of lighted bling in the early 50s for their washers and dryers.
