Now you know exactly what the first dishwasher I ever used looked like. The one that flooded the kitchen twice. Once when the water valve stuck, once when I put washer detergent in it. The next (57) wasn't much different except it never flooded.

The good old ramp-and-baffle 4-blade bakelite impeller sitting directly atop the motor shaft. The good old motor-current relay that turned the water off. 2 washes, 2 detergent compartments, 2 rinses. Water entered from a sprinkler at the top, which probably rinsed better than the subsequent side entrys. I'm pretty sure it had a standalone pump. I'd be absolutely sure if it had ever given a problem.

We had no performance complaints. BUT back then detergents were packed with phosphates AND I was taught to douche all the lumps off, leaving only a film of grease for the machine to remove which it did handily.

Oh, at the time I was 8yo and venturing into repairing the 1949 Laundromat. Thoze werr da daze.

Rick, these dishwashers were extremely popular in Dallas at the time for builders who did put an automatic dishwasher in their new homes.  Saw more of these than any other brand for that era in that area.

Dallas distributor must have offered big builder discounts. Some houses were GE builtins. Our 63 house was Frigidaire. We got those lovely Flair twin ovens.

Today 3-3 we have POD of the 'electric sink' which is what we actually had. The compartment on the left is a soapdish, on the right is a siphon break for the drain.
