Marquette - never seen this brand before. Was it it's own company, or a clone of another make?

It was a Beam/Franklin design.

I don't personally know anything about the Marquette company in Minneapolis, but the address in the ad is a part of town that was a major retail and small business hub in Northeast Minneapolis in the 1950s.

The dryer certainly matches the Franklin design from the 60's with the top-mounted lint filter, but I didn't know the Franklin washers ever had a fibre glass tub.

Beam/Franklin offshoots

I know that the Beam/Franklin brands included AMC, Bradford, Coronado and Wizard. While I have seen Bradford and AMC sold at local Long Island W.T. Grant, and A&S & Gertz respectively, I never saw any in action.

The Gambles hardware store in my hometown sold quite a number of Coronado washers in the 1960's and '70s. I recall the crazy sounds they made (Robert calls his Wizard, quite aptly, "The Pig"), and that the solid tub models usually had a Partial Fill button to push when you wanted the fill to stop and agitation to start for smaller loads. They were my introduction to indexing tubs, as well.
