Marquette Appliances
Every time I see this in the POD, I want to say that we had a Marquette 21 cubic foot(which was humongous at the time) Top fridge with bottom freezer, that was purchased thru Macy's home freezer/meat plan. You paid off the freezer monthly and would order the cuts of meat that you wanted from a list that came with each order that was delivered to your home. They even had salesmen who went around on their routes to assist you in making your choices or to tell you about sales and promotions.
It said Marquette on the door and on the data plate and had a home base somewhere in the Midwest. What always impressed me most was that the data plate listed the running amps as only 2.3 amps! I know it sounds unheard of at that time and after that but that refrigerator was bought in 1963 and was still running strong and perfectly in 1997 when my parents sold their house. In all the years they had it, the only part it needed was a fan blade for the refrigerator evaporator and once the evap drain clogged and we had to pull the unit out to clean the tube leading to the drain pan.
There was no self defrost in it and the bottom freezer had the open wire shelves with the refrigerant coils running through them, much like upright freezers of that time. Also, it had no condenser on the back or bottom, but instead, the hot refrigerant was built into the mullions and the walls of the box. I wish I knew more about that design back then and they were ahead of the rest it would seem.
The meats were always excellent and the frozen goods were all sourced from Seabrook Farms. And their ice cream was the best! Armel French ice cream. That always went the fastest!

The washer appears to be built by Apex. Strange how the washer and dryer do not remotely resemble each other. I guess they were fraternal twins.
I was thinking the same thing with the fiberglass tub and Apex style control panel.
