This struck me as a dramatic ad in the late-mid 70s when I first saw it, but I do have questions about the make up of the 15 lb. load. They don't say what size sheets, shorts (briefs or boxers) or shirts go into the load. I'm sort of surprised they could get all of that in a tall tub Maytag. I wonder if the strong water circulation of the Filter Flo in the GE helped the results in that machine. I suspect that the GE had the straight vane agitator which, from my limited observation of machines with it many years ago, does not turn things over the same way as the spiral ramp agitator, not that it turned large loads over quickly either. I guess that was why the V-12 machines said, for 12 pound loads, to start the wash cycle at the dot which gave 14 minutes of wash time.
