Does anyone wonder why the washer control pod was not used on the dryer or know why it was not used? It seems like they shoud have matched, being as how they were the same brand and there was only one model of each available.

I looks like they got the dryer door handle from the same source as Hotpoint.

strange indeed

It almost seems like the washer and dryer were built by two different companies and they applied the Marquette name. Sort of how some washers in the early 1950's often had a Hamilton dryer as the companion, but at least those they tried to make them match. The Marquette washer is an Apex, correct?

That's what I've been told. It has that Fiberglass tub with the water pockets for balancing. I wonder if that is where WP got the idea for the three balancing tanks for the 29 inch combo.

The dryer is of newer technology than the Hamilton-based design of the perforated cylinder and radiant heat. It seems to have a solid cylinder and a perforated back with high airflow, lower drying temperatures and no direct exposure of the load to radiant heat.
