This is an interesting machine, all the way around......

is there a post somewhere of how this works, not from the top side, but what makes it run, or do what it does, as in the so called tranny?....

and Kenmore thinking they had the newest idea with their CATALYST action of spraying the load with soap lather to pretreat before the fill/wash starts....which is really not the same, pretreating is fine, but the wash action of the Kelvy adds that much better cleaning, IMO......

similar to the Calypso's pretreating the load while it adds water to begin the wash.....say what you will about these, my 2 have been great machines, it just takes a little knowledge of how to operate and load to get great results.....I can't complain......

Oh, very cool! First time I've seen an ad for the '59. The '58 ad pops up from time to time, but the timeline in the POD is clearly for the '59.

I've included a link to the Kelvinator rebuild I did several years ago. Explains how the torque clutches act as a 'transmission'. Super easy machines to work on. Achilles heel of the ABC/Kelvinator machines are the clutch and upper boot. If you find one where both are good you are set.

Thanks for the link Ben......I am just puzzled with how the mechanism makes it do what it does........

forgive me......but I was just as amazed at how a Rollermatic works, with rollers and making the agitator BOB up and down......pure genious!

Would someone please

Explain to me in detail how these machines wash as they do not have a gearbox that I could see in the videos.
Sorry to be a total numpty but am just an ignorant curious englishman who has never seen anything like it before...:)
