I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but I'd kinda like to see a series of Kenmore pics--like the ones posted--but year by year.

I'm interested in viewing their changes, rather than seeing a few sets and trying to remember.

I'm hoping someone can help jog my cognitions (or lack thereof), but wasn't there another Kenmore agitator other than the Vari-flex?

It was orange--or whatever the "offical" color for orange was called then--perhaps "harvest"(?) But the cap was different--more along the lines of a Whirlpool, but thinner at the top and wider at the bottom.

Does anyone have a pic of these?

BTW, we had a vintage Lady Kenmore with a Variflex agitator. Sold it to my neighbor a year or two ago for $50 so he could use it in one of his apartment buildings.

The agitator position for gentle was absolutely wonderful. It truly treated the clothes tenderly--just carefully stirred the water.

Maybe your thinking of the Super Roto-swirl.Kenmore had several types of agitators in the mid to late sixties. They had:

Roto-Flex
straight vane
Super Roto-Swirl
Vari-flex.

Any KM fans out there will probably correct me,but i believe that the Roto-Swirl agitators were used in the TOL washers from the mid 50's to about 64 or 65.When the skirtless Roto-Flex was introduced,The RS agitators were in mid level machines.

Dan,

Does this help? This is a gold 1970's Super Roto-Swirl I installed in my standard-capacity 1982 Kenmore "70." And note the cone-shaped cap with "Kenmore" across the top as well.

This is one cool agitator to watch! More pics to come.

I too am looking for pics of either the 69 or 70 Kenmore 800. Thats the washer I grew up with and served our family for 28 years! It had the same agitator as above, although it had a fabric softner dispenser on top. I've never seen an advertisment or a pic for it since. And everytime I bid on a Sears catalog from 69 or 70, I get way outbid! :)

Re: Thread Number: 850, POD Kenmore:

Does anyone happen to have any of the Sears Spring/Summer 1968 or Fall/Winter 1968 Catalog Picture's of the Washer's and Dryer's, or preferrably just of the Dryer's? I'm looking for a Photo of the "Sears-Best" Lady-K Dryer, that I wrote about of the Matching Washer. I would really appreciate any Photo's either Posted on the Thread or if you don't mind sending me the Photo "via" my E-Mail Address:

I hope to locate one in the Coppertone Color that I bought my Parent's new in 1968.

Peace and Happiness to everyone, Steve

agitators

If I remember right, the Vari-Flex had the adjustable vanes, whereas the Roto-Flex was skirtless and the vanes were flexible

Austin's Pics

Bingo. Austin won. Nice work! Thanks to everyone for their responses.

And Austin, you have the waterfall filter, too. Was this original, or did you have to rig it up?

If I had a machine like yours--well, let's say, I wouldn't get a thing done!
