The makers of other appliances, like Globe with Maytag gas ranges and Amana with Maytag Freezers kept producing their own lines of stoves and freezers. Frigidaire, while making Wards' dishwashers kept marketing their own. Both Norge and Westinghouse, while making laundry appliances for Wards kept marketing their own machines, like Tappan and Westinghouse did while making electric ranges for Wards. Roper, while making ranges for Sears continued to offer ranges under their own name. I think D&M was a unique manufacturer for hire in the appliance world.
