Washing this contaminated spinach will do nothing as the E.Coli bacteria is embedded within the plant leaves. Chuck it out!
Just for the record bagged "pre-washed" produce is already triple washed (in chlorinated water), and pasturised. So anything that survives all that is not going to be shifted by washing at home by consumers. Besides just opening the packet and touching the contents, one is disributing any bacteria and likely to recontaminate any "cleaning" done at home.
