I'm humbled again Steve. Poppy was so rich and indicative of the Spanish/Moorish influence in houses at that period in time.
Well, the FINANCIAL lottery. I have ALREADY hit the lottery, in other ways.

Was a very popular brand here in Connectiut. My father worked for many years for New Departure Hyatt Bearings which was a division of General Motors. They later relocated to Sandusky, Ohio.
He received a discount when he purchased any product bearing the General Motors name.
First is was a Frigidaire Rapidry 1000 in 1967(our first automatic washer, putting the Maytag Wringer washer to rest after 4 kids and many years of service). Then, a 30" avocado green stove and matching 'top mount' refrigerator, which was still in place when the house was sold in the early 90's.
Of course, a matching KA Superba avocado green dishwasher was my gift to the family, otherwise, it probably would have been a GM product.

GM Frigidaire
The Frigidaire dishwasher was all I purchased until 1980, for a total of three. I bought the Custom Imperial with pushbuttons. They had the whirly gig on the bottom spray, a tower and a sprayer on top. The top rack was was amazing. You could put cereal bowls and cups on the side, stemware in the deeper parts and more bowls, saucers or glasses down the middle, depending on the day's usage. I was very happy with them, but cautioned by salemen to expect a five "wash" life and then performance to drop off there after. I bought a used portable for the bakery in 1984 that was 20 years old and it did a perfect job. I loved Frigidaire appliances.

The Poppy Frigidaire's were the most awsome color. My Aunt had a 1/18 poppy 1974 set and painted the basement wall to match it. The Frigidaire dishwasher came with her house it wasnt as nice as the above and was about a 1970 model in coppertone. Was noisey but the capacity was awsome even with the tower. What a great design. How did the one above stand up to cleaning? Hers did just a decent job. She wanted to do the kitchen appliances in poppy but it already had coppertone appliances. Their will never be anything made like them again.

LIKED the Frigidaire range. In fact, it was often top rated in the 70s.
This is also a dream kitchen for me, even with my dislike of electric cooktops. No other colour would do, however.

Well Peter, if you happened to read my post about said dishasher, you'd know what I thought of its performance.
We had that very same vinyl flooring in a tiny bathroom once, dark brown shower curtain with a scalloped valance, towels, trash can, cups & soapdish - even a matching plastic scalloped tissue box!
Would have loved to have the appliances then - I always thought the ranges of this Frigidaire era were very elegant looking.

Wow, that is awesome. Just the other day I stumbled across a GM remodeling/builder's brochure in the stash that had these, and was wondering if any dishwashers were still in existence. Now I know! I'll have to scan it in; that and the 1983 line booklet!
Everything looks to be in fantastic shape for their age. I think I have a spray arm (minus the Silver Shower) for the DW in the stash as well!
