POR Sealant

I notice you guys use alot of the POR sealant on the machines. What is it used for and where do you buy it? Can it be used on automobiles too?

I've been very happy with the results I get from POR-15. I used it to coat the centerpost shaft on my '57 Lady Kenmore and its holding up great!

POR-15 is THE paint to use for problematic rust areas...I coated the bottom of the outer tub (and the lower exterior of the spin tub) of my 1-18 because of the rust spots, and it's holding up great!

I also used it on some outer tub and centerpost rust in my Dispensall...no rust will be popping up anytime soon!

So, do you just paint it over rust, or do you sand or prep it first?
