Portable dishwasher hose extension

I am wondering if anybody has any recommendations for what I can do regarding my portable dishwashers drain& fill hose that attaches to the sink, it’s a bit too short and I’d like to find an extension of soemthing so I wouldn’t have to always keep it in the middle of my kitchen, which makes doing anything in it while it’s running extremely annoying.

Are there extension hoses or longer versions of the one that is on mine? Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated.

Here is my model machine. I’d believe it’s the same Whirlpool hose they all use

To best of one's knowledge portable dishwashers and washing machines sold in USA large use same type of double "quick connect" hose system.

You might look around to see if someone supplies a longer hose set than what you have currently. Of course one major issue would be if all that extra hose will fit inside dw when not in use. Portable washing machine hoses usually wind around some sort of holder on back of machine, thus that problem normally isn't an issue.

Another solution would be if one is handy and has proper tools to simply create a longer hose set.

You'd need a quick connect faucet thingy, two hoses (fill and drain), and way to attach/crimp connections to quick connect fill/drain faucet adapter.

Fill hoses for washing machines and dishwashers with fitted elbow end you can get off shelf. Drain houses as well come in standard lengths, but again you'd need a way to crimp/attach one end to faucet adapter. Free end is merely snugged onto drain port of dishwasher and clamped.

Here again with this solution there may only be a finite amount of space in dishwasher to accommodate hoses when not in use. Thus you could end up with end part of hose hanging off machine.

I got rid of mine!

I had exactly the same issue, a dishwasher in the middle of my gigantic (not) kitchen.

I bought extremely long hoses (30 ft), Y connectors for the hot water supply under the sink, an air gap (mandatory in CA) and installed.it permanently, with the hoses passing behind the fridge, the stove and in the cabinets.

Not even a single issue and for over 6 months I don't know what is rolling my portable DW.

As my hands were already dirty, I replaced the el cheapo faucet by a Kohler whatever super fancy model that sprays, squirts, spits, and sprinkles. The only thing I didn't buy yet was the smart module so I can ask Alexa to open/close the faucet or give me exactly X ounces of water at X degrees.

If you are really handy...

Home depot sells a single handle faucet hot water only. Solder a hot water pipe over to near the dishwasher and install this faucet on it with the connector. Then get a longer hose for the drain into the sink. With this, you could easily move the dishwasher if need be, but it would not be in the way to use it. Am I not brilliant!? That's what happens when I get my daily fiber!

probably best to start the machine before you go to bed, unless you sleepwalk....

or hook it up permanently in a spot near the sink....

How long does the hose need be? If up to 9 feet, there are washing machine fill hoses up to that length, I believe. The fill valve should have a male fitting for the female end of the hose. For the other female end of the hose, you can buy a quick disconnect snap coupler which is like the one in your unicouple so that your faucet nipple will fit or you can get an adapter that fits the snap coupler you find in the plumbing department if it is different. I put one on a garden hose when I had to connect it to my kitchen faucet and run it out through the mail slot to water rose bushes outside a condo. It was the same size as the faucet nipple used by my dishwasher.

You will buy an appropriate length of drain hose to drain it into the sink. If these can run behind a refrigerator, they can be hidden easily. If not, they will have to be drained, like into a bucket, before being stored behind your dishwasher. The draining of the hoses will be easier if you bring them up through the opening used by the unicouple.

Let me measure it, but there’s no sense in permanently installing it to the kitchen, this is a temporary place and I’ll be taking the machine with me. As far as anyone’s concerned I’ll never get rid of it, but I had thought that out and it’s not an issue of having excess hoses sticking out while not in use, as it’ll be backed up to a wall anyways.

My type of kitchen is this. You walk into it and directly in front of you is the sink, to the left the counter comes out a little bit and meets up with where the dishwasher sits and where it would need to be if I extended the hoses. To the right of the sink is the again extended countertop and then the stove. So I’ll have to measure it out and go with what the above has suggested, thank you all for the input and soon I may try to do this. It would just be much more convenient to let it sit in its own spot even when it’s running, I have rugs in my kitchen and she’s a bit of a bitch to move sometimes lol. But it’s mainly because it takes up almost the entire space in front of the stove and sink, and sometimes I need to run it more than once a day while I’m cleaning and such.

Couldn’t you make a longer hose by cutting both ends use a new length of hose and use hose clamps on each end?
