Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Thanks everyone for answering the question about dishes crac

The LG is hooked to the cold water line and everything is still coming out GREAT without pre-rinsing. The cycle time is closer to the estimate when the machine is started. When it was hooked to the hot tap it always finished early. No problem, as I’m never in a hurry to put dishes away.

Even with a cold fill, the final rinse temperature (measured as the water exited into the garbage disposal) was 181 F when I used the “Normal” cycle with “Strong” spray, and “Sanitary” rinse.

It's all about clever design. The cheap machines in the US seem to rely on lots of hot water and detergent to do the work.

The top-of-the-line machines, either European or US made, or just vastly better in terms of design and produce superior results.

I wouldn't go near a low end dishwasher. They're one appliance that really can have remarkably good results if they're designed properly.

I've had excellent results from Bosch/Siemens, Ariston (oddly enough), and Zanussi. I remember using a Candy machine though that didn't seem to be able to lift baked-on dirt very well.
