Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thank you, suds, for your support. I appreciate it.

As mentioned, there is a core group of less than a half a dozen posters who only post here when they smell blood...

That doesn't happen without a whole lot onlookers around.

Thanks, suds, for choosing not to participate in that.

When I read the post that favored forcible homosexual rape a

I must have been sleeping. I haven't seen this BUT I have been extremely busy with family health issues so I haven't been terribly good at keeping up! What post?

"Where's respect (not directed at you, perc) for MY diversity of opinion?"...There are a lot of very intelligent people in this group which is why I enjoy it so much. I learned a long time ago (and try to live by it) that it's not what you say BUT how you say it that counts. You can tell someone to go f**k themselves with a smile and get away with it better than if you were to tell them to go to hell with a scowl! Some people appreciate a direct approach but I think IMOHO that most people appreciate a diplomatic approach. You have some very well thought out statements (as well as several others in this group) but perhaps the announcement of someones death was not a call to take their personal inventory. As the grandson of an Italian businessman(wink)I will tell you that I have stood in front of the caskets of some of the most contentious, loathsome murderers but have still respected that they were one of gods creatures. I had much that I could, and wanted to say (not nice things) to their families but it wasn't the time plus they already knew without my teaching them. To me it's all about respect, time and place.

Sorry to ramble but thank you for listening and previous understanding my previous post for the spirit in which I meant it!

Best,
Rich

"As mentioned, there is a core group of less than a half a dozen posters who only post here when they smell blood"... I agree totally...Runamatic, "Mr I tolerate gays" is the biggest offender of that. I ask my fellow gay and lesbian posters, How does it feel to be tolerated?
No need to thank me for my support, from one scorpio to another..I get your passion.

peace out brotha!

Speaker Pelosi

She is regarded with skepticism in my circles for a host of different reasons but is infinitely better than what she is replacing, and my advice is to take a wait-and-see attitude and see what they come up with.

I can tell you that the offices and support staff of the reps are buzzing with activity, even during the holidays, and I am proud to see the "Clinton work ethic" quickly sweeping away the cobwebs of the Armageddonists...

We're about to HANG the leader of another sovereign nati

Umm,..Oxydol...do you know what that leader did? There may have not been nuclear weapons, but ask the kurds what the f**** that man did...isn't this same man the one who ordered the genocide of these people?

He tried to rebuild Babylon and..according to the bible,..it will never come to be. Read between the lines man.

Oh, yes, I do, agiflow, and I share your horror....but, then, why have we not executed Gerald Ford, one of our own, for the summary execution of one-third of the population of East Timor?

My purpose is not to debate the death penalty in America (I do oppose it, pending further examination of Christian scholars and others more learned than I am)....and I suppose that, had a sovereign Iraq tried him under solid legal underpinnings and execution were permissable under sovereign Iraqi law, that would be their business.

My purpose is to point out that Iraq is NOT currently a sovereign state. It is a state that is under occupation, and we are involved and responsible for the installation of a puppet "democratic" regime that works for absolutely no one but the warlords, both foreign and domestic. We are in up to our necks regarding this verdict. Even the biggest neocon chickenhawks are admitting we cannot impose democracy on a people whose tribal system of government, like it or not, suited them....and are recommending the installation of a "benovolent dictator".....

Uh, you mean like Saddam Hussein? The guy who's getting hung, under American occupation? The one we supported and built up, during the Iran/Iraq crisis?

Agiflow, I deplore death, destruction, and violence....but if we applied the same standards to our OWN leaders, and our allies' leaders, that we impose on other nations we despise, why was Johnson walking around as long as he was? What about Nixon? Putin? Sharon? Clinton? (There is widespread debate regarding Serbs/Montenegro/etc.) Blair? Pinochet?

This whole thing is "feel-good" justice, but will serve no interest as either a deterrent, or obtaining justice for everyday Iraqis. It's cherry-picking and show trials, in the worst possible venue for us to be in...it is hypocrisy.

All you need to know is that the war in Iraq is based on lie, and the reasons for why I think as I do fall into place...

Did Saddam do anything to us? Did he cause 9/11? NEVER..

One last thing. Speaking of cherry-picking, my partner, in his ever-increasing worry over the amount of time I spend on this site, pointed out the "Tookie Williams" thread in the archives.

Never could I support myself or align myself with the rabid hate I saw expressed there. When I think of how I was made to feel guilty when I posted here on that immigration thread...

Again, America has a moral problem when it comes to violence, and the gay community is no exception....I was, once again, embarrassed to be an America (not to mention, I lost a really important argument...THANKS GUYS!)

It's one thing to desire justice, quite another to gloat and crow gleefully when it is administered....and now I'm seeing how gang rape is okay among so many here.

For shame.

Sudsdud, First, I don't understand where "Mr. I tolerate gays" comes from. I do not care what your sexual orientation is. I don't care what you do in your bedroom. I don't know what the hell you're talking about. You're trying to infer something that isn't there. Secondly, Retromom asked Oxy to please have some respect over a former President's death. That's all. for that she gets "Don't waste your time bantering with Retromom. she is an extremely partisan republican and has a habit of attacking people on these boards who have a political view who differs with hers." Sound familiar? Just replace repub w/ democrat and you'll see it through our eyes. Shane, whether you agree with either one doesn't matter. She had just as much a right to her post as Oxy stating he doesn't care when a republican dies. Fine. I added my opinion. Why is that wrong? Because my opinion is different?

Oxy, I don't know anything about the gang rape thing you're referring to. I am lost on that one.

Since I don"t want to offend Oxy & Shane, I probably will not post any longer. I don't want them to feel I'm smelling blood & they need to tiptoe around. Have fun, boys.

Some really strong opinions here....
I would hope nobody would feel as though they need to leave this group because of this thread. I think that would be a shame.

No Mail, Banks Closed Tuesday

By order of the president, federal banks and the USPS will be closed on Tuesday as a "mark of respect" to the late president.

While a laudable act, it comes after said insitutions were closed on Monday for New Year's day. It also means anyone who deposited funds after three PM on Friday, won't see their money until Thursday.

Wow!

Just finished reading all the posts under this thread. Just when I thought Vacuumland had the exclusive on "kooks", all I had to do was drop in and read this one.

I hope the cake won't interrupt my Young Pioneers planning session teleconference, from Havana....

Our last revolution was postponed, on account of rain.

But, on Thursday, we plan to collectivize Whirlpool!

Pete,

Shaken or stirred? Gray Goose or Kettle 1? I prefer stirred, Gray Goose or Finlandia.

Now for cake, how about Pineapple Upside Down, it is absolutely my favorite!

PS--the Biddle Bird Watchers will have an annual meeting in Milwaukee the weekend of January 20th. The "collectiving of Whirlpool" is number three on the agenda list.

Oxy..........

Guilty as charged. Yes, I am air-waycharlie of VCCC fame or shame. AKA Helen Lawson, star of stage and film. I have leant my stardom to help the cause of preserving our vacuum heritage.

I was a poster on this site, (as well as the other VCCC folks), as a guest of Robert S. until he developed our website, Vacuumland.org.

I attended the fabulous wash-in at Greg Nunn's in Omaha, 2005. It was interesting to find the surprising number of folks that were intersted in both appliances----washers and vacuums.

From reading some of the posts here, it seems you joined us, (Applianceville), after the VCCC website was started. I stayed more on that site as that is truly where my interest is. However, I am still a part of Appliancville and have wonderful friends here.

Thanks for your greeting and I'm sure you will find a post here and there from me, most of the time tongue in cheek, just enjoying life by doing laundry and running an old vacuum.

Amen Charlie! You'd be surprised at the sheer quantity of them we have on here. As for the VCCC, I'll be the first to admit that I'm one of the "kooks" over there, tee hee hee...;-)

Hi Austin!

Oh darling, just consider me one of the chief kooks out there!

As you know, a Hoover brushroll and it's helix gets my motor started!

Life is so short and such a gift that I just want to enjoy. Like Mame said, "Life is a smorgasbord and most poor suckers are starving."

I'm making sure I never go hungry! (Please no comments from Ida or other gang members.)
