Hey all. Ive been starting to notice lately that my Filter queen triple crown just isn't sounding healthy.

It never did seem very quiet when compared to the model 33 but I dont think its supposed to be this loud. It also has an awful buzzy like motor squeal especially noticeable when shut off.

What might be wrong with it? When I remove the blower cap, I see a tiny blue spark coming from the motor. Is this normal?

I love love love this machine. Dont want to kill it by running it! Whoever owned it last probably got rid of it for this reason.

probably bearings

probably has a ball bearing going bad in the motor, usually they are 608s
though sometimes the upper bearing is sleeve. The vacume motors can be a bit
of a trick to get apart without damage and you have to be careful the fan
discs don't get bent as they spin at around 25-30,000 rpm and will vibrate
if tweaked just a little.A little blue arcing where the brushes meet the
commutator is normal.

Good to hear.

Ill probably haul it down to odowds store when the weather is nice and have him work his magic on it!
