Can you simply turn off the Cold Water Faucet while the washer is filling for the wash? Will this give you an Error code? This is what I do with the GE Harmony and its works perfectly, although I rarely use that machine for any hot wash.
Isn't it sad that the electronics get in the way of what we need/want to do?
I can see the value in temp-controlling cold and warm water, but dumbing-down hot water is just plain ridiculous. Everyone here knows I'm all for energy efficient machines, but I draw the line at temp-controlled hot water.
I fill my LG Tromm 2432 with a hose through the dispenser when I need hot water wash.
If you shut the cold off....as soon as the sump senses below 50c it shuts the hot off completely and will not fill at all.
If you fill on Sanitary with extra hot wash selected it will fill with the hot line temp except for the first 10 seconds(that is always cold)
If you select the stain cycle with sanitary...it dumbs it down, too for obvious reasons.

Instead of turning it off,
can you close the cold water valve *almost* shut? This would let some flow occur to satisfy that sensor, but the smaller volume of cold water would not cool down the mix as much. This is what I do with my Fridgemore, but it's pretty easy because I have a quarter-turn valve with a big handle.

I have the LG Tromm combo 3677. I have had a problem with the door leaking twice. I like the machine but the service sux. It does wash very well however.

I have the Kenmore 44092, which is the same as the Frigidaire GLTF2940. This is the 3.5 cu.ft. machine with the big window in the door. And yes, it uses its ATC to cool down water which is, in its judgement, too hot.

Yeah, this is one of my biggest pet peeves with the LG. I do what Trok_99 does: I choose the Sanitary Cycle first and then switch to whatever cycle I want but the LG always fills with cold water for the first 5 seconds. I received after much haggling and threatening, a tech sheet from them indicating what all the temperature presets are. If you select HOT the machine will fill with hot water until it reaches 50C then mix in cold water until it reaches 40C, then it will switch back to HOT. By then, everything has cooled down. I've tried filling the machine throught the dispenser, which feels truly ridiculous and I've accidently triggered the "oversudsing protocol" a couple of times. The machine is very sensitive to tampering. I considered connecting the HOT and COLD inlets to a faucet that I could selectively make only hot, but I was afraid it would totally freak-out the computer and I'd have to pay for 13 years of Freudian Analysis for my washing machine.
The presets are:
HOT: 50 40
WARM:35 30
COLD:25 20
I much prefer the system on the MIELE and the Asko where you actually choose a temperature point for the water (usually from 60F to 200F).

My Miele manuals state that the incoming hot water cannot be hotter than 130 and on the rare occasions when my stupid water heater delivers water above 120 even while set at the hottest setting, I have heard the fill valve briefly switch over to cold, but then it heats the water to the setting on the cycle so it's not a problem.
Using a hose to fill it with hot water through the dispenser when it wants to switch to cold is about the best way to accomplish what you are trying to do. Just turn off the cold and when it tries to switch, turn on your faucet. Once the pressure switch is satisfied, the machine should operate "normally."

They will take 130 down to 105
That is as hot as it will let any load be usless I use the sanitary cycle which takes hours . If I fill on sanitary cycle with hot when I change to another cycle it pumps the hot water our and starts adding cold really make me p o

Hi, Lee. I have the 2006 LG TROMM Steam Washer WM2688HNM (4.0 Capacity w/ recirculation system, and steam fresh cycle in Blue), and I love it! I’m not sure which one you have, but I am sure this will work for you. Try using 2 “Y” connecters, one on each water connection (Hot and Cold).
They usually connect an outside hose bib (outside water faucet) to 2 water hoses. They are sold at any hardware store and only cost a few dollars. They are used when one needs to connect 2 hoses to one hose bib (outside water faucet). Buy the kind that has a shut off for each hose. Anyway hook one to the main hot and one to the main cold water line in your launder area. This will give you four male connections (2 hot and 2 cold). Hook your washer’s hot hose to one of the hot male ends. Hook your washer’s cold hose to one of the cold male ends. Then run another washer hose from the remaining hot male end to the remaining male cold end which will connect them together.
When you want to fill only w/ hot:
1. Close the main cold water valve. In the picture it’s the red knob on the right.
2. Open all of the quart turn “Y” valves. In the picture they are black.
3. Open the main hot water valve. In the picture it is the red valve on the left.
4. Start your cycle.
5. After the washer fills for the wash, shut the 2 quarter turn valves that connect the washer hose from the cold to hot off. Then open the main cold water valve.
When you want to fill only w/ hot:

Lee, believe it on not, I use this connect so that the washer only fills w/ cold. I like to start w/ cold and let the washer heat the water, but I just tested it filling w/ only hot on, and it works fine no matter what the wash temperature is set to.
