I've started a new project for some Greek radio stations . I want to make some special Playlist with favorite songs from people around the world!

So, tell me your favorite song! (with english lyrics pls) :)

thanksssssssssssssss

one of my all time favorites is by Sophie Tucker

from 1929. She sang it in an early talkie called "Honkey Tonk" which I believe is lost - no copies in existance.

However, she did record the songs from the film for Victor Records in their Hollywood Studio. Always thought the lyrics made this one a great song for a Gay Man. The song is kind of smaltzy and sad in the begining but I love the way it ends strong.

"I'm doin' what I'm doin' for love"
by Yellen & Ager

"The world may think I'm wrong, but I'll just go along,
I'm Doin' What I'm Doin' for love.

Who cares what others Say? I'll be the one who pays -
for doin' what I'm doin' for love.

I gave up all I had, but im glad, I did it for you.
After years may bring tears, but what can I do?

You cost me home and friends, it doesn't matter how it ends.

I'm doing what I'm doing for love

The whole world may think I'm wrong. Right or wrong I'll go along.

I'm doing what I'm doing for love,

I dont care what people 'round me say, i know I'll be the one who'll pay, for doing what I'm doing for love.

I gave up all I had, but I'm glad, I say it with pride. If the after years bring me tears, it's alright, I'm satisfied.

I've broken man made laws, but heaven will forgive me because
I'm doing what I'm doing for love."

Sophie was a big shouldered broad in the best sense, with a big voice, big body and a huge heart!

I have lots of favorites!

My musical tastes span the genres. From rock to classic country to oldies to big band...

My number one favorite would be:
"These Dreams" by HEART. Besides being made the year I was born (1985), it also reminds me of a girl I once knew.

Some of my other favorites would be:

"I Know Why" by Glenn Miller & his Orchestra
"Deep Purple" Sung by Helen Forrest with The Artie Shaw Orchestra
"That Old Black Magic" performed by Lawrence Welk & his Orchestra

The Man I Love

Written by George Gershwin in 1927, most preferably performed by Ella Fitzgerald.

"Some day he'll come along,
The man I love;
And he'll be big and strong,
The man I love;
And when he comes my way,
I'll do my best to make him stay.

He'll look at me and smile--
I'll understand;
And in a little while
He'll take my hand;
And though it seems absurd,
I know we both won't say a word.

Maybe I shall meet him Sunday,
Maybe Monday -- maybe not;
Still I'm sure to meet him one day--
Maybe Tuesday
Will be my good news day.

He'll build a little home
Just meant for two;
From which I'll never roam--
Who would? Would you?
And so all else above,
I'm waiting for
The man I love! "

I'm still waiting!

The sound of music (automaticwasher.org version)

Automaticwasher.org choir sang this song at the 2005 convention. I have no idea who wrote it.

Solid Tub Norges with black Burpilators
Philcos and Blackstones and old Kelvinators
A motor then spins,a bell that goes ding!
These are a few of my favorite things

Belt-driven Kenmores with black Vari-Flexes
Westy top loaders with tubs that indexes
Permanent Press,with a second rinse
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites,when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And I don't feel so bad

Frigidaire Pulsators up and down going
Maytag Highlanders,GE's Filter Flo-ing
And all the joy Convention will bring
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites,when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And I don't feel so bad
