I was playing with the belt drive portable today, and I was looking at the filter and wondered something. How long does it take once the wash has started for all of the water to be filtered? Of course machines with higher pump capacities would filter water much faster like the GE FF. But how long would it take in minutes for all of the water to be filtered?

well the simplest way, is to take the filter hose off and have it pump into a bucket or even into a sink, and see how long it takes for it to empty the washer...granted it won't pump as fast as the actual drain hose, but I am willing to bet about 1 1/2 to 2 times as long, considering a smaller hose, and smaller impellor of the pump....

curious to actually see wat your results would be......

RECIRCULATION RATE FOR WP BD PORTABLE

I would guess at least 5 or more minutes, the pump only has one impeller but the outlet port and hose are much smaller so the flow is greatly reduced. I am assuming that you are talking about the compact BD washer that was built from 1972-1986 with the high spin speed. The earlier compact BD washers did have two pump impellers with the lower one being for the lint filter, I think that these earlier machines moved even more water through the lint filter.
