For you guys around here in the NC area or surrounding states who may be interested here is a notice I received today. I breaks my heart.
I want to make sure none of these puppies loose their lives so I'm putting word out everywhere I can.

For clarification purposes the email address listed is [email protected] The phone number listed would be for area code (828)

Inconsiderate/ignorant pet owners piss me the hell off!!! I sure hope they find good, loving homes!

If...

If I lived there, I would take them all. I think alot of pet owners need to be euthanized instead.....Bill in Az.....

We just went through that last week. We had a stray Cardigan Corgi out at my work. We'd seen it running around for a week and we'd been trying to catch it. We finally cornered it in a fence and brought it in. Absolutely THE SWEETEST dog I've ever seen. I'd have kept her myself, but with the puppy that's near impossible. We had the same situation with the SPCA and Humane Society being full....just ridiculous. My coworker kept her in their garage for the better part of a week until we found her a very good home. Loving folks with a very young son (4 year old). She lit up like a Christmas tree when she saw those people come to get her!

Thankfully for her, the ending turned out very happy indeed.

Don't be discouraged folks

There are many people seriously involved in "no kill"
shelter efforts through out the US . Many online adoption
efforts and a lot of the chain pet stores make sure these
little varmints get maximum exposure. We have had dogs
delivered clear across the country from our shelter here
in Grass Valley. Puppies at our shelter seldom go unadopted
longer than a week.

Believe it or not, this "free puppies" e-mail is a scam. Employees of our shelter and the shelter itself has received this same e-mail. When you follow up with a return e-mail, the person listed in the original ad doesn't know anything about the pups. Same photo & everything!

Our shelter is going No-Kill this month. So far, so good. Most people think most of the dogs in our inventory are strays. That's not true. 64% of the dogs we have are owner turn ins, meaning people bring in their own dogs just because they don't want them anymore. It's sad. If we could stop, or slow down the turn in rate we could easily become a no kill shelter. One of the things we are doing is having off site adoptions. And having off side adoptions during the weekdays too.

A lot of the time we get dogs turned in just because people don't think it out before getting the dog in the first place. They don't think about who is going to care for the dog, they don't think about vet bills, feeding, etc. And most of all they don't think that the cute little puppy they see is going to grow into a dog someday.

Thank you for alerting me to this. It's easily found out on Google. I apoligize for bothering people on here with something that's not legit. I've never head of such a thing as circulting a scam about puppies. I think it's a cruel trick!

Don't worry about bothering us with this, it could have been a true story. Our shelter actually called around to get emergency foster homes for these pups, only to find out its a scam.
It seems as the world wide economy melts down we see an increase in scams and television advertisements.
Don't companies realize that running more adverts is not going to make people spend money they don't have?

What pisses me off is people with dogs and cats turning them in or begging for help for money to pay the vet all the while they're smoking, making calls on their cellphones inbetween playing Wii. They always have money for the latest whatever but none for the animal when they need it.
