Has anyone seen or tried this? Target has it on sale @ $3.00 a bottle. Is this a bargain price? I guess I'll give this a try, but mostly in the top load agitator washers since it makes no suds in the rinse. A while back, the same chain had the Purex powder with Renuzit no stinkum on sale, 2 for 1. I had never seen this so I bought 2 boxes and like it for general wash like sheets or towels. Tom

I've tried it...

And like it for general washing in my Epic for normally to lightly soiled clothes and such. Rinses out easily and leaves a pleasant smell behind. I am using the "After the Rain" fragrance with the corresponding liquid softner.

Hi Shane

Both the Regular ( non 2x ) as well as HE 2x work quite well with my Epic. Sudsing is kept at a minimum. I am using the HE 2x now. Mind you I don't go putting 2 capfuls in like I've seen some people do. When I use the regular version I generally do not fill the cap above line 1. This amount is adequate for cleaning as well as low sudsing. I also find that a 1/4 cup of regular Tide powder also works well without a lot of sudsing, proivded of course that it is a full load. I've tried it with less then a full load and wound up with lots of suds. lol. As soon as I burn up the regular detergents on the shelf I'll be using all HE stuff. While I haven't had any problems yet, I do not want to tempt fate. This was probably more info. then what you were looking for, sorry! :-)

Chris, Thank you for the evaluation based on your experience with it. Maybe it is just being introduced and we are among the first markets.

I discovered several years ago that I can mix Powder Tide HE up to half and half with regular sudsing detergents and it controls suds, but not at temperatures above 140F. If you are geting by OK, that's great, but if you run into problems, the powder HE might be a help. It's funny, but the powder HE detergents seem few. There's the Tide, the Sears and the Quixtar (Amway) stuff that I think of that are domestically produced and Persil from across the ocean. Are there any other HE POWDERS nationally available (domestic or imported, with or without delightful insouciance and full bodied aroma, slightly fruity, but not too sweet)?

Hi Tom

I've had these bottles of 2x Purex for a few months now. Come to think of it I purchased them at Target. Maybe P&G locked up the market for the 2x products and its been slow for Purex to get these products in the door. I know what you mean about HE powders. Aside from the Sears powder I seem to be able to only find Tide HE powder. I do have a box of Persil which I use soley for my white bath towels in conjunction with the Epics "Sanitary" cycle. Sometime believe it or not that can get quite sudsy. But I've not seen many other HE powders here in the Baltimore market.

Thanks for the info Chris~

Here in Florida, we have Tide,Gain,Kirkland (Costco) and Sears HE powder. I tried the Tide HE Powder and didn't care for the fragrance at all. It is nothing like Original Tide Powder. Gain HE powder is very good actually and has a clean, fresh scent similar to Original Gain powder.

But, I have decided after my stash winds down, I am taking David's (Zipdang's) advice and ordering Persil Megapearls powder from Andy. David swears by it's performance in his Kitchen Aid Ensemble.

You're welcome Shane...

And you'll LOVE Persil. The frangrance is out of this world. I know what you mean about waiting for the stash to diminsh. When I use mine up I am also going to buy the Persil Megapearls for colors. But I have so much stuff it will probably be quite a while before I'll need to buy it. lol.

Hey Chris

E-Mail Andy Weter (AndyElectrolux) and he can send you some Persil. He is a Miele dealer and you will save $$ ordering from him rather than overseas.

Take Care

purex he 2x detergent

I bought two bottles of that purex and I love it. It rinses out of my clothes really well and leaves them smelling fresh. I love it and will continue to buy it. i just hope they dont anytime in the near future dont decide to quit making it. Everytime i find a new product and start buying it the manufactures discontinue the stuff and it makes me madder than hell.
