coffee grounds

When I go camping I have a Corning ware Perk.
As good as the smell and coffee is I find it leaves alot of sediment in the cups and pot.
Am I thinking that at one time there was a small disk filter that went into the bottom of the basket or on top of the grounds before the metal lid went on to hold down the grounds?

Sorry, it was birds, not people, but yes, that is Friendship "what a perfect blendship." Remember Lucy & Ethel ripping stuff from each other's identical dresses while singing this?

You can buy paper perk filters, both disk and full liner in the coffee aisle. The Norelco ADC only used a flat disk filter at the bottom of what looked like a perk basket that sat on the decanter. Mom liked the full basket liner in her Farberware perks, easily pushed down into the basket with a small drinking glass. Another thing that helped somewhat was to rinse out the basket before spooning the coffee in to prevent little dry pieces from falling through the holes.

awesome, thanks!

I managed to find an electromatic percolator that I don't think has ever been used. It still has its instructions!

I think I know, now, why the percolators lost their epoxy. I think too many people kept the coffee hot in them too long - and with too little liquid, causing the pot simply to get too hot.

But I agree with what others have said here: be careful with them.

But mine makes excellent coffee.

I too must confess I love Corning Ware!! Have ever since it came out. My colllection is not nearly as big as some of the members here but I really do love and use it daily! I think what impresses me the most is that it still looks like brand new!! Greg's collection is amazing. I keep kidding him that he must be working on having a service of Centura for 100!!

There's a Spice O Life stove top perk at our local Value Village, The basket and stem are there but is it supposed to have a metal perforated cover for the basket, I think that part is missing?

I picked up a NIB 10-cup Electromatic Cornflower perc. at an estate sale 2 weeks ago. I love the feel of the pot, and the thought of using something made on this continent, not China. Sorry for the mini rant. The coffee tastes great coming from it too.
