New obsession with Corning/Pyrex

Thanks for educating me about the eggshells. That's interesting.
I agree about the Corelle. Our "daily drivers" are a set of Country Cottage that we received as a wedding present.
My parents had Wildflower, whenever that was current. Late '70s? Early '80s?
My wife's parents had Indian Summer, followed by English Meadow.
Her parents also had some Corning. Ive seen a few Blue Cornflower pieces. My parents never had Corning Ware, for whatever reason. Some Pyrex, yes. The Corning casserole that my mom recently gave me, must have belonged to someone else, and my mom got it when they passed.
My eBay pieces just arrived today, so I'm giving them a little love this evening. Someone tipped me off that Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish does wonders for utensil marks, and the marks on the bottom from oven racks. I have to agree!

I've heard that as well, Eddie.
And I may have used it before. I just happened to have a small jar of Mothers polish handy, since I had recently used it on a Kirby vacuum.
I forgot to mention that Mom also gave me part of her set of Wildflower Corelle. I don't know what became of the dinner and luncheon plates. I know the design was very faded from the dishwasher. I have about a half dozen of the little dessert plates, which are plain white, and about the same number of the soup/cereal bowls. They have a single spring green stripe around the rim. Some are in pretty good shape. But, on some of them, the green stripe is very faded.
She thinks the larger plates might be packed away in the basement, but I'm skeptical. If they are, I'll probably end up bringing them home too. But, I remember them being very faded.
Whenever I see the Wildflower pattern though, it hits me right in the feels. That was such a good time period in my life, and I miss it.

My mother had that clip on handle thing in the 70s for her blue flower casserole set.

Don't exactly know what happened but one time she was removing a casserole from the mid 70s Whirlpool wall oven and it slipped and smashed.

Ridiculous prices? Wt-frig!

I get my stuff at charity shops and pay-by-the-pound stores. Bring it home give it a good thorough soak and cleaning with baking soda, vinegar, and bleach if necessary.

Yes! There's my Spice O' Life casserole, for $19,000!
I'd like to hang onto something that's been in my family for a while. But, maybe I should sell it and buy myself a nice used vehicle. 🙄
Maybe it's the same person who's trying to get $100,000 for the turquoise GE wall oven.
