For all my Australian appliance friends, I just wanted to ask a question. If I was to buy something like a vacuum cleaner of ebay from Melbourne etc. How much would it cost to get it sent to me? Would Australia post handle it or would I have to get a courier?

Your advise will be most apprieciated.

I would be asking the person selling to supply cost information and then do your own research. Australia post has its costs online that should be able to help, but, if you want an opinion, you can probably find the same product cheaper in Sydney if you look hard enough by the time you account for post and packing....

...Having said that though, if it is cheap enough and 'rare' it may be worth the effort

Agree with Chris

Hey Ash

I agree with Chris, the seller should be quoting postage and handling and 'generally' most ebay sellers will use Australia Post BUT, i recently sold on ebay for my sister her Kirby vaccuum cleaner and used 'Couriers Please' which ended up being about $60.00 to send. The buyer didn't have any issues paying that amount.

It's all going to depend on what type of vaccuum cleaner you're thinking of buying.
