I noticed a link to you from another thread and I'd like to ask a few questions. Is that felt seal on you 906 an original Maytag part? I hear they're getting hard to find. Is there such a thing as a heat resistant felt a person could buy and fashion their own seal out of it? If necessary, could a person use some other type of heat resistant glue, like an automotive glue or something. Surely there must be something out there that would work. I'm afraid, one of these days we're gonna have to start brainstorming and coming up with our own parts. Thanks.

Hi. The front felt can be found still although it is becoming a bit difficult. The wise ones are stocking up on a few along with the belt sets. The funny thing is that it's not particularly heat resistant and will eventually scorch off with prolonged usage. Anything super heat resistant might involve metallic properties and therefor present a possible shock hazard if it came loose and contacted the element.

The high temp adhesive should be around for quite a while as many manufacturers still use it, Whirlpool for example. Or GE. Yeah, the time to
be inventive is coming soon or in many cases already here...
