Question for the ge filter flo experts

hello to all aw members,

in what year or era did ge filter flo washer dryer sets where made with a brown control panel before going to a fully black control panel or was the brown control panel canadian made ge filter flo washer dryers.

Pierre,
If you're referring to the woodgrain applique on the console, I believe that design was introduced in 1977 and continued for 4 or 5 years. After that the woodgrain was replaced with a brushed-aluminum/black combination design.

I never saw a GE with that console panel before. It must be strictly a Canadian version that was never on this side of the border. It does look rather nice though. Much nicer than the old V-12 washer I had.

I can't say that I've ever seen that console before.  Nice colors, though.  My guess is definitely Canadian, and probably privately-labeled for a retailer.  But, that's just a guess.

Thank you for that wonderful picture. I agree with Lawrence; I'd bet my filter pan that was a Canadian model. Boy, I'd love to see the washer models that were offered that year. Also, what's up with that handle? Could they have put it farther to the edge of the door?
