Hi all
just a quick on, the Hotpoint WML540 does it have a sealed tub or is it screwed tub? our model is the one with the indesit drum, asking because it seems something has gotton stuck on the underneath of thr drum and its making the machine make a horrible noise while spining. if theres anyway to save it please let me know what i can do if its a sealed tub... its a great machine and id ve sad to see it dumped after only two years for a stupid issue such as this.

Sealed or not

Take a look inside the drum with a torch and see if you can locate whats stuck inside ! If you can find it and it is most likely to be a sock around the heater try and work it toward the sump where you can remove the sump hose and with a little luck you should be able to hook the thing out. All this without taking the drum apart.
Hope this helps.

its not a sock... i sounds like a braclet or necklace by the noise of it... i also thing it may be caught around the element or underside of thr fins... i will remove the sump during the week and see but i doubt it can be saved i reckon sad as i am to say it, it may be time to wave bye bye to the hotpoint... shame if so as its a brilliant machine and gets a lot of use.

I would do what Andy has said above.

I replaced a heating element on my aunts Hotpoint WMA 58 and found an ankle sock stuck in the drum, I removed this by using pliers. I could have also removed it from the sump which I opened at the same time to clean.

Hope you can sort it out, best of luck with what you decide to do.
