I would like to get my mother a nice Radarange. What models should I focus on? Anything I should look out for?

Make sure you check the door gasket and upper

try to find one that has had the power supply rebuilt, the capacitors in these will go bad with time. The plastic "roof" panel can be a problem area too.
We like and use daily the RRL-9TA series for it's combination of features such as the glass digital panel - easy to clean, program storage, Temp Probe, Touchmatic, and the more clean modern look, while some like the look of the heavy chrome door type, RR-9TA, both are otherwise the same. That said any Radarange is awesome, and there's lots of types to choose from...Craigslist is THE place to find one.

and other than two minor, minor repairs, works like a charm!
