I don't usually go to the cinema at this time of year - I'd rather be in a Biergarten.
Fat chance of that right now - it's either raining, fixing to rain or taking a deep breath before starting in again.

So - went to the movies!

Saw "I love you Phillip Morris". Here in Germany, of course - I believe the film is still too controversial to be released in the US.

Thought it was the best film Jim Carrey has done in, I don't know - decades?.
Ewan McGregor was brilliant as a not-quite-dumb, pretty boy.

One of the most unusual gay romances I've ever seen. Definitely going to read the book. Based on a true story.

I so don't know how they can edit it to make it acceptable for the 'States. Probably go straight to DVD/Netflix.

I give it 4.5 out of 5 thumbs up. (And two of those thumbs are for the love making as opposed to porn-sex).

Next on my list: Eyes Wide Open from Haim Tabakman. Very unusual preview - same production values as "Walk on Water" but I don't think this one is going to have a happy ending...

So what is everybody else watching? If it's sunny where you're at, just, please, keep it to yourself.

Eleven days in a row and counting....

According to Carrey's site the delay has nothing to do with the movie's content. It's a marketing problem (that turned into a possible legal problem) between the producers and distributor. Apparently the distributor promised things they haven't delivered yet.

Latest release date for the U.S. is July.

Jeff,

I am overjoyed to hear that. Everything I read about it said that they'd basically have to remake the whole thing to get it out with "only" an "R" rating.

If it does get released, definitely worth seeing. I think the chemistry between the two worked very well.

Just finished the book

"I Love You Philip Morris." Wild stuff.

If the moovy is half as good as the book, it will be wonderful.
